What’s Included in Our Professional Packing Services?
One benefit of hiring a professional organizing company for packing is that we can do more than simply put your belongings into boxes.
Because we’re professional organizers, we can also help you declutter before your move and organize your belongings as we pack so everything stays grouped together.
Here’s how our packing service works and what our team can help with.
Packing Consultation & Project Recommendations
Before your packing project, we’ll start with a phone consultation to learn more about your move and how we can help.
You’ll speak with Olivia Parks, owner of My Professional Organizer, about which areas of your home you want help packing, your timeline, budget, and any other details we should know.
From there, we’ll have you send us photos of the areas you’d like packed. This helps us get a better idea of how much you have and recommend the amount of help and number of packing sessions you may need.
Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll schedule your packing project.
Packing Supply Recommendations & Ordering
You don’t have to figure out which packing supplies to buy or how much you’ll need on your own. Based on the areas we’re packing and the items you have, we can recommend the moving boxes, wardrobe boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, and other supplies you’ll need.
We typically help our clients order their packing supplies ahead of time and have everything delivered directly to their home. That way, when we arrive for your scheduled packing day, your supplies are already there, and we can get right to work.
We Arrive Ready to Pack
On your packing project day, our professional organizers arrive at your home ready and prepared to get to work. Whether we’re packing your kitchen, closets, bedrooms, living areas, or multiple areas throughout the home, we’ll focus on the spaces we’ve planned for that day and work efficiently to get as much packed as possible.
If we’re providing your packing supplies, we’ll arrive with those ready to use. We also bring the basic tools we need for the packing process, such as scissors, Sharpies, labels, Ziploc bags, and other essentials.
Most importantly, we arrive with a smile on our faces and ready to make packing for your move feel a whole lot easier.
Organizing Your Belongings as We Pack
Because we’re professional organizers, we don’t just put things into boxes wherever they fit. We organize and group similar items together as we pack so your belongings stay organized throughout the moving process.
For example, kitchen items stay with other kitchen items, closet categories stay together, and belongings from different rooms don’t unnecessarily get mixed into the same boxes. This also makes it much easier to find things and get organized when it’s time to unpack in your new home.
All of the Physical Work of Packing is Handled
Packing involves a lot more physical work than most people realize. We handle putting boxes together, crushing packing paper, wrapping your belongings, packing boxes, taping and labeling them, and stacking completed boxes as we work.
There’s also all of the bending, reaching, lifting, and getting items down from shelves, cabinets, and closets. Our team handles the packing process from start to finish, so you don’t have to spend your evenings or weekends doing all of that yourself.
This can be especially helpful for senior downsizing, as well as for anyone with an injury or physical limitations that make bending, lifting, reaching, or packing difficult.
But you certainly don’t need to fall into either category to benefit from the help. Many of our clients simply don’t want to spend their evenings and weekends doing all of the physical work that comes with packing for a move.
Professional Packing Techniques
Our team has experience packing all types of household and fragile items and uses efficient packing techniques, so we know how to carefully wrap and pack your belongings based on what we’re working with.
We determine which size boxes to use, how items should fit together, which belongings need additional wrapping or protection, and the best way to pack each box.
Safety is also an important part of the packing process, from making sure boxes aren’t overloaded to carefully packing fragile or breakable items. Knowing how to properly arrange and protect everything can help keep your belongings safer during your move.
Organization and Labeling
We handle the box labeling as we pack so you know what’s inside and where everything belongs. Boxes can be labeled by room, category, or contents depending on what we’re packing.
This helps keep your move organized and makes things much easier once the boxes arrive at your new home. Instead of opening box after box trying to figure out where everything went, you’ll have a much better idea of what’s inside and where it needs to go.
Optional Decluttering Help Before We Pack
If you have items you don’t want to bring to your new home and want help downsizing, we can also help you declutter before we pack them. We’ll help you sort through your belongings and decide what you want to keep, donate, or get rid of.
For approved donation items, we can also handle the donation drop-offs and take them to a local donation center for you. This means you’re not spending time packing, moving, and eventually unpacking things you already know you don’t want anymore.
Packing Specific Rooms or Your Entire Home
You don’t have to hire us to pack your entire home. Some clients only want help with certain rooms or areas that are more time-consuming to pack, while others want us to handle most or all of their packing.
We can help pack kitchens, pantries, closets, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, home offices, garages, storage areas, and more. How much help you hire us for is completely up to you and what makes sense for your move and budget.
Cleaning Up & Consolidating Packing Supplies
Once we’re finished packing for the day, we don’t leave you with packing paper, tape, empty boxes, and supplies scattered throughout your home.
We clean up the areas where we worked, gather and consolidate any leftover packing supplies, and make sure everything is left neat before we leave.
Any remaining supplies can then be kept together and ready for your next packing session or anything you decide to pack yourself.

What Isn’t Included in Our Packing Services?
While we can pack most household items, there are a few things that aren’t included in our packing services. Some larger items are typically best handled by your moving company since they have the equipment and materials needed to properly protect and transport them.
- Moving and transportation: We are not a moving company, so we do not transport your boxes or belongings to your new home.
- Move-out cleaning: We do not provide cleaning services after your home has been packed.
- Large furniture: We do not wrap, disassemble, or prepare large pieces of furniture for moving.
- Large electronics: We do not wrap or pack TVs or other large electronics, such as large computers or sound systems.
- Large wall décor and mirrors: Oversized artwork, wall décor, and large mirrors should typically be wrapped and prepared for transport by your moving company.
- Hazardous or flammable items: We do not pack hazardous or flammable materials, including chemicals, paint, gasoline, lighter fluid, lighters, or other items that may be unsafe to pack or transport.
- Detailed inventory lists: We do not create an itemized inventory of everything packed inside each box. We do, however, label the top and sides of each box with the room and general contents so you and your movers can easily tell where each box belongs and what’s inside.
- Written estimates or proposals: We do not provide formal written estimates or project proposals. When you book your packing service, you’ll receive the details of what’s included in your service, and your payment will also be documented on your receipt.

What’s Included in Your Specific Packing Project?
What’s included in your packing project will depend on how much help you want and exactly what you’d like our team to take care of. Every move is different, so your project can be as focused or as involved as you need it to be.
For example, you may only want us to pack your kitchen and closets, you may want help packing several rooms, or you may want help packing your entire home. Some clients also want help decluttering before we pack, followed by unpacking and organizing once they’re in their new home.
Other clients simply need packing help and nothing else. We’ll talk through what you need during your consultation and recommend the amount of help based on your specific project, timeline, and budget.
Do You Need to Be Home While We Pack?
No. You don’t need to be home while we pack. Our team handles the physical and mental work of packing, so whether you stay home or leave during your packing session is completely up to you.
The main time we need you to be home is if you’d like help decluttering and deciding what to keep, donate, or get rid of before we start packing. This is typically done during a separate decluttering session before your packing project.
Once we know which items are staying and need to be packed, you’re welcome to stay home, head to work, run errands, or go about your day while our team handles the packing.
How Much Do Professional Packing Services Cost in Mandeville?

Where you fall within that range depends on how much you want us to pack. You may only want help packing your kitchen or another time-consuming area, several rooms throughout your home, or you may want us to pack your entire home.
