How to Effortlessly Boost Your Google Business Profile with Raving Client Reviews

Struggling to get client reviews or unsure how to ask for them? You’re not alone.

Many organizers face this challenge, but with the right approach, you can collect glowing reviews that boost your Google Business Profile—and your business.

Today, I’m revealing the exact steps we’ve used to generate hundreds of glowing reviews for our organizing business.

And you can start using these strategies today.

Let’s jump in!

Find the Right Moment: Timing Your Review Requests for Maximum Impact

Getting the timing right can make all the difference when asking for client reviews. The secret? Send your request when your client is most likely to respond.

For parents, avoid sending requests during the hectic hours of school pickups and bedtime routines. Instead, try sending a text or email once the kids are down for the night.

We’ve found that late evening can be a sweet spot for getting reviews from parents.

Busy professionals’ work schedules can be unpredictable, but you can often get a sense of their availability as you work together.

A well-timed request during a lunch break or at the end of the workday can increase your chances of getting that review.

Remember to consider daytime opportunities, too. If you know your client is home and has a few minutes to spare, sending the request via text during the day can also work well.

Pro Tip: Timing is about catching your clients in a moment when they’re most likely to engage. Finding that window can significantly boost your review rate.

Streamlining the Review Process with a Simple Link

When asking for reviews, it’s important to focus on clients who use Gmail, as Google reviews require a Gmail account.

Knowing this upfront allows you to direct your request to the right people and increases your chances of getting that review.

How to Grab the Review Link:

To make it easy for your clients, you can create a direct link that takes them straight to your Google review page.

I’ve included a short video tutorial that shows you exactly how to find and use this link from your Google Business Profile dashboard. With just one click, your clients can start leaving their reviews.

Copy and paste this link into your texts and emails to generate reviews.

Pro Tip: If your client opens the link on their mobile phone, they’ll be required to sign into their Gmail account to leave a review. However, if they open the link on their computer, they often won’t need to sign in, which can reduce friction in the review process.

What If They Don’t Have Gmail?

No Gmail? No problem. If a client doesn’t have a Gmail account, consider directing them to leave a review on your Facebook page, Thumbtack account, or another platform where your business has an online presence.

The key is to offer them an easy alternative.

How to Request Reviews Without Being Pushy

Asking for reviews doesn’t have to feel awkward or pushy. The key is to make your request feel natural and well-timed.

In-Person Requests:

Whenever possible, ask for a review face-to-face when wrapping up a project. This personal touch can make a big difference and keep your clients accountable.

If your team of organizers is completing a project, consider giving the client a quick follow-up call to see how the session went.

This is an excellent moment to mention that you’ll send a review request.

Timing the Request:

If the time feels right, send the review link via text immediately after your conversation. However, if you sense the client is busy or preoccupied, following up at a more convenient time is better.

The goal is to make it easy for them to say “yes” to your request.

High-Quality Reviews Only

Not every client interaction warrants a review request.

Being selective about when you ask for feedback is crucial to building a positive online presence that drives new business.

Selective Requests:

Always ensure the client had a stellar experience before requesting a review. Positive reviews are the foundation of a strong Google Business Profile, so only request reviews from clients who are genuinely satisfied with your services.

Building a Trustworthy Profile:

By being selective, you ensure your Google Business Profile is filled with authentic, glowing reviews of your services.

This builds trust with potential clients and boosts your profile in search results.

Closing Thoughts

Getting high-quality reviews isn’t just a checkbox on your to-do list. It’s a vital step in growing your organizing business.

The strategies I’ve shared here have worked for us and can work for you, too.

Remember, asking for reviews isn’t something to avoid or be shy about. It’s an essential part of your success!

Pro Tip: When you’re just starting out, you may not have a flow of clients to generate reviews. But don’t let that discourage you! Do what you have to to get new reviews. We used to message local influencers on Instagram to organize an area of their home for free in exchange for a review, and it worked! When we first started, we even offered our service for free in exchange for 5-star reviews. Sometimes, you have to eat dirt for a while to get the ball rolling, but that’s okay!
